Want to sell on Amazon, eBay & other marketplaces?
At Rysons, a wholesale exporter and supplier, we are more than familiar with the world of online shopping in marketplaces such as Amazon & Ebay. In fact, we have a carefully curated section here dedicated to the many fantastic products we have on offer that we know online sellers love. From travel sewing kits to air fresheners, or mattress covers to clothes pegs, there are so many products available perfect for many different areas. Whether you specialise in kitchenware or health & beauty here at Rysons we have you covered.
With no shortage of customers available, making a profit online through sites such as Amazon and eBay is increasing in popularity. These marketplaces have already established brand loyalty and a big online presence, which would be very time consuming to do if you were to build from scratch. This all helps increase the likelihood of you finding potential buyers for your products.
Here at Rysons, we already supply to sellers using Amazon and Ebay and our brands are established, having been selling them for many years. We have a great variety of items readily available to be sold onto an excited customer in the marketplace of your choice.
A recent study showed that in 2020 UK internet retail sales had grown by 46.1%. What’s more, in 2021 the number of global digital buyers stood at a whopping 2.14 billion- that’s 27.6% of the world’s population! The numbers will continue to increase as more and more people will get used to the ease and convenience of online shopping, especially with companies such as Amazon offering next day delivery services.
What are you selling?
First, you need to decide what exactly you want to sell. There’s so much to choose from (especially at Rysons) and create, so think wisely. There are many different types of products to sell:
- Retail arbitrage: buying products below retail value, such as products from us at Rysons, and selling them on at a hiked up price (buy low, sell high).
- White labelling: products already in existence produced by a company that displays your own brand name/logo instead, which is great as market research on the product is already readily available.
- Private labelling: products are made by a 3rd party manufacturer that display your own brand name/logo. This type of product gives you the most control, as you control the contents of the product, the branding, pricing and much more.
Attending Trade Shows is a brilliant way to check out potential products, gain knowledge on the market you want to enter and also make connections with potential wholesale suppliers etc. Check our blog on the benefits of attending trade shows.
How are you selling?
- Wholesale: when you buy products in bulk from a wholesaler.
- Dropshipping: when you buy products from a manufacturer who then completes and ships the order to the customer on your behalf.
- Your own handmade products: when you create, pack and ship your products to the customer yourself.
Products
- Using wholesale suppliers to buy in bulk is a fantastic way to find products to sell. Wholesalers have a huge range of products from electrical to kitchenware, health & beauty to arts & crafts and more! These products have existing proven track records already, making your job easier. This way to buy products is very convenient and is an effective way to make a good profit.
- Clearance items are becoming more and more popular to acquire to sell on Amazon and Ebay. At Rysons we specialise in clearance overstock, so buying products from us will allow you to buy low and sell high, giving a good profit margin. See our blog here to understand more about clearance goods.
- Buying wholesale is great if you are continuously buying from the same supplier. If you establish a relationship with them then you may be able to negotiate prices, get deals/bargains, pay lower shipping costs and so on. For example, wholesalers like us here at Rysons offer FREE delivery on UK mainland orders of over £500! They can even help in sourcing products that you require.
Tips for selling on Amazon & Ebay
- Use programmes/pages (such as Amazon’s Best Sellers page, Google trends etc) to help you find trending products that are in high demand and see if a wholesaler, such as Rysons, has the items in stock for you.
- Keep your place of work organsied- both the storage section and the office section. This will make it easy to find things to be shipped, know which items need to be restocked, which items aren’t selling fast etc.
- Having professional clean looking pictures is really important and greatly affects a consumer's decision to buy from you.
- Reviews are extremely important and should be encouraged, especially when selling your own products as they help to build brand trust. Just think about all the times you haven't bought something based on their reviews.
- List your items well: use clear high resolution images, detailed titles, short & sweet descriptions so the customers know exactly what they’re buying.
- Find products that are niche, meaning they aren’t as readily available so are in high demand and therefore also have less competition.
- eBay is a great place to sell niche or antique items, as the bidding auction system can increase quite a bit depending on the customers interest in the product.
